A Truly Amazing List Of Books...

I hope and pray that there are other book lovers similar to me out there in this world!!!  I fear my lists of books.  I love them.  I hate them.  I desire them.  What is wrong with me?  I am reading constantly and I am always buying books and preordering books and yearning for books.  Is this normal?  I fear I have a huge problem...one with no name and alas...no known cure.  I thought perhaps my Kindle would cure me...but I think that owning a Kindle has only made it worse...do you know how many books you can store on a Kindle?  I think literally millions and millions.  I have this idea in my head that I have to always order Kindle books in sets of two.  So...if I buy two books and then a preordered one appears...I have to buy another one...OMG...I am scaring myself now...I have two Kindle wishlists and one of them holds 432 books...the other 45...yikes!!!  And I am still envious of all the bloggers who went to NYC and came back with tons of books.  Even though I already own lots of them.   It is a hot lazy Saturday on the East Coast...I am reading and writing this while I listen to the maddening hum of the soccer game in the background...my husband just told me that sound is something the fans are waving...but it sounds like lots and lots and lots of bees.  Annoying.  The point of this post was to share yet one more incredible list that was posted on Book Reporter.com.  It is a list of recently published and soon to be published books that extends throughout the year.  It is lovely...desirous...and dangerous.  Just click on this...BOOKS COMING SOON  for a truly comprehensive list.  But proceed with caution and hide your AmEx card...from yourself.

Shopping...On A Fascinating Site...

I love this site...they have the most wondrous items...I have to have these antique shoe boxes...I love this kind of unique quaint well handled artifact.  We have a fabulous wine rack that was a shoemaker's rack from St. Louis when there was a shoe company there called Brown Shoes.  We lived there during one of my husband's job transfers and these unique racks were everywhere.  Probably why I like these...and am ordering some now...I love bins and boxes...and storing treasures neatly!!!

Almost forgot to include the site...http://threepotatofourshop.com/

You must check it out!!!

Hmmm...Two More To Go But I Might Take A Break...

Carpe Corpus By Rachel Caine
Imagine your already weird and scary world getting just a bit more weird and scary. If you can do that you will truly know what reading Book #6 in the Morganville Vampire Series is like. I have enjoyed all the books in this series but this one was the most entertaining and thrilling. Seriously…thrilling…frightening…and all consuming. Morganville and all of its residents, both human and vampire are involved in a battle for their lives. If you are on Bishop’s side you are relatively safe and may stay alive for the time being. If you are on Amelie’s side, you are hunted and hiding and totally wrecked and ruined…for the time being. If you are a human…you are pretty much just out of luck. I have to admit to my total addiction to vampire books but I truly believe that Bishop is the most evil vampire character that I have ever encountered. He shows no mercy, no compassion and delights in hatred, hurting and evil…and his evil is the most evil of all evils. Of course this makes this book such fun to read. Claire, again, is the key character. She is so much fun especially when so many bad things happen to her. Myrnin again plays a most fascinating role. He is scary and kind and tricky and funny…all of the things that I love in a vampires. I actually even sort of like Oliver. With Oliver you just never know which way he is going to go…will he choose evil or good…that is Oliver’s mystery. Michael and Shane remain protectors. Eve emerges as a brave Goth warrior…who will do whatever she can to help her friends.

That is all that I can tell you about this book…I think this series is fun…and I also think the writing is exceedingly good. It has truly kept my interest. I have read nothing but this series for the last 10 days…

Another summer reading source...

I have been frantically copying titles and authors from all of the lucky people who were in New York for BEA...I am obviously filled with envy...as a new blogger and a massive quantity book buyer...via Kindle...I am in awe of the delicious amount of books that other bloggers acquired...in fact...I am downright envious...but just in case there are other books out there that we are as yet unaware of and in case you are still looking for summer books on a wide variety of subjects...this list was posted in the L.A. Times on June 6th.  It is entitled "60 Books For 92 Days.  I noticed with much pleasure that some fav authors of mine have new books either out or coming out soon...Janelle Brown, Allegra Goodman, and Aimee Bender...to name my top three.

Why Are We So Tired?

The three of us are exhausted after our Berkshires getaway...on our first day back...Lucy removed herself from us and slept in one of the upstairs bedrooms all day long!!!  I do believe she put a "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the bedroom door...

We were back late on Friday...after rest and relaxing and dinners out all week...and the next morning at our local Mennonite plant place so Dennis could plant his veggie garden...it was a mess in the morning and by the afternnoon it was lovely...flowers and tomatoes and lettuces and zucchini and peppers and all kinds of things...herbs and celery...yes...we planted celery...it looked so cute...and gourds and whatever looked fascinating...we have no clue what we are doing...when we plant...we buy too much...way too much but it is so much fun...and part of my morning routine is walking out to the garden and noting what has grown...we live right on a pond...so of course geese and ducks watch our every move...so far no real interest in eating up our garden...last year we had baby geese who munched the tops off of everything...
