Done! Totally Finished!

Yesterday was my last blog tour! I really truly don't like them...I feel as though I have a paper due or even worse conferences or report cards. I do not like blog tours!

Dorothy from "Pump Up Your Books" could not be more gracious and wonderful. Tracee...another blog tour promoter...is the same...gracious and kind...and the staff at TLC...amazing. It is me...I am not cut out for a tour. Can I say this just once more...I so do not like blog tours. I like talking about books in my own way. That is what I do best!

Reading this...so delicious...Bea can tell what's going on with someone when she sketches...now girls are being raped and murdered and Bea's sketches are in the middle of everything. I love the writing of this author. It's so fluid and real and moving. The book is intense yet lovely. Bea is a struggling broken character. This is the kind of book that I love.

We are supposed to have snow today...I am relaxing with my girls while Den makes breakfast. Heavenly! A possible trip to Costco and Mrs. Robino's for pasta later or dinner in...I finally made a yummy layered salad or Brandywine Prime for bar food!

This sounds sick but I am craving their blue cheese stuffed steak martini!

Also I have never been in a Costco ever and we just got one here...so I want a Costco field trip!

A Plethora Of Reading Material!

First of all...I love that word...plethora...I can't believe I got to use it!

Just finished this book...

description from Amazon follows...it's quite yummy and the first in a trilogy...plus if you have a Kindle...it's $3.59!

If you have Amazon Prime you can borrow it for free! I found it to be quite interesting...sort of a unique combination of a Greek family's history and the story of Jill...a detective and a horrible crime she investigates. Plus tons of descriptions of amazing Greek foods...stuffed peppers and bread and tomatoes and honey drizzled stuffed French toast...yum!

"Nestled below the skyline of Detroit you’ll find Greektown, a few short blocks of colorful bliss, warm people and Greek food. In spite of growing up immersed in the safety of her family and their rich culture, Jill Zannos doesn’t fit in. A Detroit homicide detective, she manages to keep one foot planted firmly in the traditions started by her grandparents, while the other navigates the most devastated neighborhoods in the city she can’t help but love. She is a no nonsense workaholic with no girlfriends, an odd boyfriend who refuses to grow up, and an uncanny intuition, inherited from her mystic grandmother that acts as her secret weapon to crime solving success. Her story winds around tales of her family and their secret laden history, while she investigates the most despicable murder of her career.
The Greeks of Beaubien Street is a modern tale of a family grounded in old world, sometimes archaic, tradition as they seek acceptance in American society. They could be any nationality, but they are Greek."

Totally fascinated with these books...probably because of the covers...

Why do I love books so much?

It's a Fishy Friday dinner for us...I am so hungry for sushi and/or Tuna Tataki!

Yum!

Nails and toes today...my girls will be alone...hopefully to bond!

Have an awesome Friday!

Complications?

This will be the millionth time we have gone on our granite quest. Every time we think we are done...something happens...the last time it was the hurricane and we were bumped off of the queue...then it was Christmas and we bumped ourselves off of the queue...then we changed our minds about the color...and now today finally...we think we chose the right color and we will be in the queue soon. Our contractor has had our island in his garage for over a year...we don't even remember what anything looks like.

Sigh!

And we just switched from light granite to dark granite.

This is our final choice...I think...our cabinets are light...not white but very light.

This is sort of how I think it will look...I hope.

Or this but our island will be white.

I also have to change out the knobby parts, pick wall tile and floor tile!

Sigh!

Finished reading this...really good...again...the boarding school drama that I love!

Can't decide what to read next...which is making me not read anything...this?

This?

In order to keep the hair color I was born with I was at my salon for three hours yesterday...thank you Kevin! My seat is in the far corner...but today my head hurts...I am allergic to color so he uses an organic one but I still feel a twinge in my head...sigh!

Still can't decide what to read...sigh!

I am annoyed by the dust I see in my house...sigh!

I think that's all for now...sigh!

See what I mean by complications?

Happy Thursday!

What Is Happening?

I know I wrote a blog post today...I did...I know I posted it...and it never showed up?

How can this happen?

And I loved it and spent time on it...and it's gone...and I was away most of the day and just looked at Facebook and wondered why I didn't see my post and then went to my blog and saw yesterday's post...and thought what the heck happened?

I am really mad!

Really truly mad!

So the only thing left to do is share a really cute Roxie Blue photo. I can't show Lucy and Roxie in the same photo yet because they aren't sharing the same close space yet...but soon...hopefully soon!
Awwwww...

Serious Rain...

Nonstop rain today! I did not venture outside. I spent my day doing yummy laundry and racing two kitties with a warm load of freshly dried laundry in my arms. The race is this...I empty the dryer and run to the family room to drop the hot clothes on the floor...then I run back to put more clothes in the dryer...then I try to fold the clothes while two kitties lounge on them. It's like playing pick up sticks...I slide...they grab...they always win. Lucy has trained Roxie well!

Reading this...weird science fiction but good...the only maddening thing is a vast array of unpronounceable...is that even a word...names. Who calls a main character
Dllenahkh? This makes me crazy!

Dinner...Turkey Taco Salad! Yum!

Happy Tuesday!

Stuff I Think I Want But Not Really!

This book includes charts! OMG...I love charts...one of the downsides of not teaching. I miss whiteboards and that huge chart paper! And big fat black markers...plus I really do want to be more interesting.

I want to read this but I hate story collections.

I really think I want this for over my mantel...but of course I am not sure. It is by an artist named Parvez Taj. I am going crazy over his work.

This stuff from a designer called Cheap Monday. These are at Shopbop and tons of other places...even Amazon! I am dying...long and short versions of the same dress...and stripes! I could and would live in this dress!

Ok...that's it...I have nothing else today...I probably do need the interesting book...it's foggy, I am feeling lazy, I need to zip out to the store. I really just want to watch Downton Abbey. We are caught up to the current season.
The members of my family are not in good moods today. Lucy and Dennis are snarly...Roxie is lazy...I am not interesting any more. Grrrrmph!
Happy Monday!

New Pots And Reorganizing!

Yesterday was a blur!

We streamlined my extra stuff shelf to make room for new pots. Calphalon gave me two of the same sized lids so the biggest pot is lidless...how can this happen?

We turned the living room into a kitty playroom...lol...

We could not stop watching Downton Abbey...we are still on Season Two!

A blur...organizing one shelf led to organizing three more out of control areas...and we had lots of kitty interference!

Still reading this...

Today...more Downton Abbey!

Happy Sunday!
