Friday...A Sort Of Compilation Of Thoughts About My Week...

This week seemed sort of leisurely to me. There were sunny days and miserably dreary rainy today. Den and I read and rested and cooked...together. It's what we do! We had chemo and Nuelasta and Den said I fell into a deep two hour sleep today while we were watching American Crime. I don't remember! We watched Dancing With The Stars and Survivor and Amazing Race...silly shows but entertaining for both of us.

We are also binge watching Sherlock Holmes and waiting for the new season of Dr. Who to begin.

Friends whom we haven't seen since we moved away from St. Louis sent me these today...we found them at our front door on this dreary day. Of course I cried and cried.

I am still deep into this book...which is so good...

Still reading this one, too...

Both will be finished this weekend and I will reach for one of these...most likely...

There is basketball this weekend and perhaps a movie and Den will cheer me up if and when I get sad about stuff. The kitties will be ever present and watchful. I often wake up with one or both of them cuddling next to me. self imposed exile will end. Den will get to stop telling me to "man up" but probably that will be our mantra for a while...but that's ok.

So...tonight is a macaroni and cheese kind of night...when you live in Pennsylvania you have to have it with stewed clue why but it's what they do here. And for some odd reason it tastes yummy!

Hugs always...

Even though I am so proud and cocky about reading two books at a Kindled and one real...I totally goofed! Both books are about really missing/dead or just perhaps missing/dead husbands/boyfriends. How could I have done this? Plus...both are so deliciously good that I can not change them out now! Sigh!

This one? OMG! A car crash...a 4 year old on the way to get Chinese food in the car with her father...after the crash Maisie can't stop talking about a bad man? Everyone knows how incredible Mary Kubicka writes and this one is no exception...I can't stop reading it!

This one...a boyfriend who totally disappears from social media and life in general...what is going on? It's good, too! But I may have to rest it until I finish my Kindled book!

I sort of sneaked this one in...a fantasy...that is really sooo yummy, too. Witches and forests and evil...I love it! I love dark powers...I wish I had some!

Dinner tonight! From Natasha's Kitchen...

a creamy cool avocado salad...

We are having this so we can have gelato for dessert...this one is so delicious but we are adding cold hot fudge and peanuts to make it healthier. We had this concoction last idea...Den fought it, tried it, and is now hooked on it!

Today is Nuelasta Shot Day!

So exhausting...hugs requested!

My Man Up Wednesday!

This was my "knock me to my knees Big Chemo Day." We go to it armed with snacks because it's a 6 hour event. Pretzels, lemondrops, stringy cheeses, sweet and sour lips and my ever present lemonade! Den packs everything and hands them to me when I need them. It's almost fun! We read, we chat with the nurses and we wait for the drugs to be delivered to my body. We bring treats for the we brought them Godivas and chocolate covered pretzels...the nurses I love have been there forever. They know so much. They answer our questions. They make me feel safe. As much as I want to be healed and done...I am afraid to not see them every week. They are my comfort...we laugh together...they let me cry...they understand. They are amazing.

I didn't read one word today...I hate that but I will read lots tonight. I had trouble deciding what to read. So...I am reading these...

I am so tired now...I will chat more about them tomorrow! But so far all three are yummy...yeah...I know I said I couldn't read three at a time...I don't now how this happened! Blame Big Chemo and my unsettled eye! And too many lips! Yum!

Springish Thoughts...Not About Books!

Even though I am still sort of in my self imposed springish thoughts are on springish clothes! I do love all sorts of clothes but my style remains the same. I love flowy...I love Boho...I love long dresses and slightly oversized tops. I love scarves and shawls and ponchos and hats! I love sandals and slides and slides and sandals! I love any kind of tunic ish top that I can throw on with leggings. My tunics always come to my knees so I won't be stopped before getting on a plane. This time of year I love jeans faves are from Hue...not expensive and totally comfortable...perfection with a comfy tunic! If it's oversized...I love it!

I know...this one is so weird...but I love it!

I guess I should talk books...reading this...Lucy propped it up for me...the main idea is that a boy kills a girl and appears to get away with it. It's fascinating...

It is a totally dreary rainy day here today. Tomorrow sunny and nice...hopefully!

Over The Weekend...

We prepped this in the afternoon on Saturday so that all we had to do on Saturday night was pop it in the oven...there are a million different versions of this...I used a combination of lots of them plus what I learned from my Italian mom. It's lasagna made out of easy but with the taste of lasagna. I used a whole wheat fusilli and it was delicious! I filled it with a really good ricotta cheese and fresh mozzarella...yum! We even put halved meatballs in it! Homemade meatballs that were made by our incredible country butcher.

On Sunday we had this...the recipe is from Martha Stewart. It was made in my slow cooker and was delicious. Even though most of our food intake is not body needed meat this weekend! This was simple and so good.

Den and I have finally figured out that if dinner isn't something we can prep in the early afternoon...we are doomed! I am too tired to cook at the end of the day. As wonderful as Den is...he is a hesitant cook. If a pasta says cook for 8's what he does. He disappears downstairs to the kitchen and is lost there for hours! He just doesn't have natural instincts yet. I can't put him through this at the day's end because he is exhausted, too. We end up eating late, we are out of sorts and not happy. Cheerios, blueberries and bananas to the rescue! But not every night...

Books Read...

This book was soooooo good. A 17 year old girl disappears from the small town she and her newly divorced mom have moved to. The story is told by key characters who live in Sycamore. It was sad and amazing and beautifully written. I savored this book!

I could not read this one fast enough! Tons of people that I loved despising in this one...I could not stop reading it! It's not cherishable...but it was fun! Ponzi scheme fun!

A Few New Books...

From NetGalley and Edelweiss and Amazon Vine...
All quotes are from Amazon...

"Quinn’s determined struggle to piece together the puzzle compellingly drives the narrative onward, and readers on board for something thought-provoking will be hooked."

"A stunning star-crossed love story set against the glitz and grit of 1980s New York City..."

"From the New York Times best-selling author of The Middlesteins comes a wickedly funny novel about a thirty-nine-year-old single, childfree woman who defies convention as she seeks connection."

"In this second book of the series, Henrietta and Clive delightfully rewrite Pride and Prejudice—with a hint of mystery!"

"From the limitless imagination of Julie Kagawa comes the next thrilling novel in The Talon Saga.

The legions will be unleashed, and no human, rogue dragon or former dragonslayer can stand against the coming horde."

Love this dragons!

What I Plan To Read This Week...

No clue! I have been really tired this I have been reading a lot!

Some possible choices are...

What books and foods are you in the mood for this week?

Weary Patty

I have been told that fatigue is worse near the end of treatment so I am just trying to rest and deal with it...and not cry! This is a BIG CHEMO week and that scares me sooooo much! Sigh!
