The Week's End...

Yesterday was such a wondrously normal day. My baseball cap is my new armor! While wearing it I feel normal, strong, healthy! There is even a bit of wavy dark hair that peeks out of the back. I am almost brave enough to not wear a hat in the house in front of Den and the kitties...almost! I am so tired of hats 24/7. I truly am.

Books!

Still lost in my worlds of fantasy this week...I love both of these books...

Perhaps this one will be next...

This felt like such an ordinary week...lots of walks, lots of books, lots of cooking, lots of kitties...lots of TV...but I love TV!

We did take a drive to find a trail walk/bike path that was supposed to be only 13 miles away...we thought it could possibly be a reason to get bikes and give us a new place to walk but the traffic was so annoying that it quickly vanished from our thoughts...it's so frustrating to have to drive somewhere to walk or bike!

Off to watch Sharknado...OMG...it is too ridiculous.

See you Monday!

Hugs,

Patty

Life, Books, And Dinner!

The weather here has been awesome. I have been walking my block daily. It might sound easy but it's one of those streets that goes up and down and by the time I get back to my house...I am exhausted. I continue to forget to wear my Fitbit so I have no clue how many steps I am taking BUT I know I need to start to walk it twice. I know it's just my street but it's sort of spiritual for me. I know I mentioned that I now love walking outside. Pretty soon...reasonably soon...we will find this trail that has people around here excited...my exile is most def coming to an end!

I can now wear baseball caps and not look ridiculous. So now I am wearing them everywhere. And my hair is really growing in but weirdly...curly wavy spiky black gray...but GROWING!

Books...reading these...both incredibly intense fantasies. I am in the mood for fantasy!

A fantasy Of Witches and Fae and Humans and Boys with Witch Blood.
A fantasy of a librarian...Irene...and a really yummy handsome partner...Kai...who can turn into a dragon. Irene the librarian has a crush on him!

Just got this but I want to read it now!

Who doesn't love a good scandal?

Food!

A French Onion Frittata.

Italian Chicken Salad.

Chicken and Zucchini.

Goat cheese and bacon vinaigrette open sammies with local tomatoes. I think I am making these for lunch.

I think that these are all from The Kitchn...

Kitties...

Sometimes they need each other.

Patty

Today...

My day started with the perfect banana...not too ripe and not too firm.

Then a chat with myself for everything I need to be thankful for.

Then my usual walk outside that is becoming way too short. I used to only want to walk on my treadmill but now I would much rather be outside. Lately I dream about walking on trails and carrying a Kind Bar in my pocket...or Den's pocket. I like to be unencumbered.

Books...

It's this one...

Salads...

It's this one.

Summer Tomato and Tuna Salad from The View From Great Island.

Kitties...

It's this one.

Hugs,

Patty

We Are Still "The Four Of Us"...

It's so sweet and so sad and so bittersweet...my little family has been through so much this year. We have survived and thrived because of family and friends and neighbors. We have survived because of our doctors and nurses. We have survived because we worked through the angst and the suffering. Sometimes I think I survived because Den dragged me through it all! People have shown us extreme kindnesses that I can only hope to repay by helping others...and I will! So everyday when I wake up I pray and I ask for help to get through the day. I have to accept Den's strength and upbeat spirit...I have to focus on Roxie so that she doesn't feel left out because of all that is going on with Lucy, and I have to accept each day that we perceive Lucy is without pain, eating and happy. I have to be thankful and I am...I will be thankful always!

This is us.

Books!

Loving this one so much...it's different, stronger, still beachy but more relevant? I don't really know...it's just good.

Want to read these next...this is the first of three in a series plus this author wrote the Galloway series which I loved!

Boarding school, magic and goth stuff...thanks Edelweiss! I love books like this.

This is a book full of secrets! Thank you, Edelweiss!
There was a full page write up about this book in the NYT Book Review yesterday...thank you Edelweiss!

We are going to be rained on all day long today!

Hugs,

Patty
